Not long now
It's hard to believe, but we're just two days away from our flight. I had planned to pop in and update everyone on our progress. Yeah, that didn't really happen.
Livi has assured me that once the trip starts, she is going to take the torch as the main voice of Bronzans on the Loose. I assume that will mainly be on Instagram, but hopefully I can get her to pop in here from time to time.
Things are going well. Our pre-trip prep has gone well and there are only a handful of tasks left to complete. We've had a lot of questions so I thought I'd answer some of them here.
What are you doing with the house? As our intention is to return to Fort Wayne a year from now, we're hanging on to the house. Through friends of a friend, we have found a family that is looking to rent a house for a year. We have met them a couple of times and they seem like very nice folks. We've packed up our personal effects and stored them in the house. Shoutout to the Allen County Public Library for the boxes. How about the animals? Ringo and Sally will be staying with friends in Fort Wayne.
And the cars? The cars will also be staying with friends in Fort Wayne. You can see how much help we are getting from our community here in the Fort. It's really incredible. We are so lucky to have such a great network of friends here in Indiana.
Where are you moving? We will be spending the year in Granada, Spain. It's a medium-sized city in southern Spain. We have a house rented in the historic Albayzin district.
What will the kids do for school? Both kids will attend IES Albayzin, a local public school within walking distance of our house. Prior to the start of school in mid-September, Luke will be taking an intensive Spanish-language class to hopefully stoke his language skills. Livi is pretty much completely fluent at this point, so we're not too concerned with her ability to speak the language.
How about sports? There are a lot of opportunities for the kids to play sports. I've been in touch with a club soccer team in Granada for Livi. Luke also plans to play soccer and there are a few teams we are looking at.
What are your upcoming travel plans? We leave the US on July 19 and won't get to Granada until August 11 or so. We'll spend the weeks in between traveling throughout Europe. First up is Belgium (Brussels, Ghent, Brugges), followed by France (Lille), England (Oxford, York, and somewhere), and then Scotland (Edinburgh and more). As you can see, we don't have it all figured out. That's the way we travel though. We'll go where we feel like going.
How can we keep in touch? We'll be having our numbers ported through Google voice, so reaching us through our existing cell numbers will be an option. Other modes of communication include: WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and good old fashioned e-mail.
Be sure to follow our Instagram page (@BronzansOnTheLoose) for photos from the trip and thank you once again for everyone who has helped us make this crazy dream of ours a reality.

I for one am super excited!
