Friday Run

By:  Tiffany (Mom)

I'm finding it difficult to find time to run.  I blame it on the time change. I feel like I'm adjusted, but I don't really think I am.  Plus we are walking 8 to 10 miles a day, so I'm getting some steps in.  However, today I was determined to take a run to Primrose Park.  Lindsey and Ilkut said it was a must do in London and since it was a 5 minute walk/run from our flat, I needed to do it.

I love all the little slices of green space London has.  Everyone seems so relaxed.  People are walking and socializing, dogs are running off leash, but minding their manners, sun bathers and runners are everywhere..  I ran to the top and was greeted with a great view.  The picture doesn't do it justice.

The man in the picture was doing sprints up and down the hill in what I would describe as weekend attire, not running attire.  He was a beast, every time I lapped him, he was doing hill spirits.  I wasn't trying to get him in the picture, it was just a bonus.

Today we took the Overground (not to be confused by the Underground) to Richmond.  It's a part of London, but not as crowded.  I really enjoyed it.  We walked along the River Thames  and it was very peaceful.  There was a violin player who was doing Irish music and Olivia naturally started Irish Step dancing.  Afterwards, we went to a pub, played Scrabble (where Brandon kicked all of our butts) and watched the World Cup.

We decided to take a boat back to Central London and we started to run out of time to reach the boat.  We headed down to the pathway to the boat and discovered it underwater.  Apparently the walk way by the Thames goes underwater during high tide, getting to the boat took a a little bit longer than we expected.  I posted pictures on Instagram, if you are interested.  Seeing London via boat was a great experience and I'm so glad that we did it.  Luke even met a friend and played Uno all the way back to Central London.

Tonight marks our last night in London, but we hope to return.

We are off to Spain tomorrow!
