Luke's recap of our time in England

Hi.  I am Luke.  Today we woke up at lunch time!  And we went to the TOWER OF LONDON.  We saw the crowns that the kings and queens of the UK wore.  The UK is also known as London.  And we went to Chinatown and we ate dinner there.  I got kung pao chicken, rice, and chow mein.  We went to Chinatown with our friends, Lindsey and Ilkut.  And then we went to dessert and I got a piece of chocolate cinnamon cake.





We went on two double decker busses.  I call them Double D's!

A couple days ago we went to Liverpool.  It was really fun because I got a Liverpool football team jacket and we went to the Beatles museum and I got a Beatles shirt with the British flag on it.



And we also went to Windsor and we saw a really big castle.  Then after I got a little money pouch that has different stuff from London on it.  When we were at the castle, Dad and I saw some guards walking and they yelled at someone to "MAKE WAY".  It was funny.  Look:



Two days after we got here we went to the Big Ben, but it was being repaired, so we couldn't really see it. We also went to a church that kings go to.  We also went to three museums.  One of them had real mummies in it and one of the mummies still had its hair, finger nails and toe nails.  It was really fun.

That's it.  Did you actually write "that's it"?  Hahahaha, Dad....

    This is a wonderful post, Luke. I'm enjoying seeing all of the photos and hearing about your day. I remember seeing mummies long ago. I think they are very interesting.

It's hard to believe, but we're just two days away from our flight.  I had planned to pop in and update everyone on our progress.  Yeah, that didn't really happen. Livi has assured me that once the trip starts, she is going to take the torch as the main voice of Bronzans on the Loose.  I assume that will mainly be on Instagram, but hopefully I can get her to pop in here from time to time. Things are going well.  Our pre-trip prep has gone well and there are only a handful of tasks left to complete.  We've had a lot of questions so I thought I'd answer some of them here. Quentar to Granada

  A few weeks ago, an American who has lived in Granada for several years arranged for a gathering at a local coffee shop for new and “old” expats to come together and meet one another.  They do this every year to welcome new families to the city.   One woman, who has been living here for eight years, told me that families come in like waves on the beach.  Every fall a wave of new expats comes crashing in.  A year later it pulls back and while a few stay, most return to the lives they left behind. At this coffee meeting, I met a man who likes to mountain bike in Granada.  He gave me some tips about the local trails.   I explained that I had run to the end of the Camino del Sacromonte, where the pavement stops and the road becomes gravel.   I have been intrigued by this path and asked him if he had ever gone further than I had.  I’d thought about venturing on alone, but I wasn’t sure if it was a public or private road. A Friday morning update from London Town

Author:  Brandon (Dad) The plan was to slow down a bit after a busy few days in London, but that really hasn't happened.  Since our Liverpool trip, we have: Traveled by train to Windsor & Eton, touring beautiful Windsor Castle and sampling a variety of pubs. Toured the Tower of London. Visited Lindsey's school in Belsize Park.  (Extremely impressive.  I think Livi wants to go there.) Experienced Chinatown (Luke's request.  Kid loves Chinatowns.) Ridden a double decker bus.  (The kids were way more excited about this than I thought possible.) Luke included a bunch of photos in his recent blog post, but here's a blind man thrilling the crowd on an organ in Chinatown.   One more full day in London and we're not 100% decided on what we'll do.  Think we'll head out to Richmond and see what that's all about.  Though I look forward to the next leg of our journey, I'll miss London.  The two times I've been here ha...
